The first book I ever owned. Not the actual one but the cover was the same a hardback with fly cover given as a Christmas gift by a neighbour, I don’t remember his name or what the relationship was. But the book, oh so clearly. I was captured by the magic of storytelling and contrary to my schools opinion of my academic abilities this was the book that started my lifelong desire to read and more importantly to understand what I was reading.
My favourite authors are:
Sven Hassel his books about a German penal battalion during WW2
Alistair McLean.
Lee Child all the Reacher books until his brother got involved.
